Its irrelevant to the seller on how commissions are split up. lt really doesn't matter if it goes to the queen of England. lts still all coming out of the sellers pocket and the commission costs should be considered criminal...

yeah, right. What other profession does this? What medical doctor puts his patient under duress to sign away his right to get another doctor if he doesn't like this particular one? What lawyer hoodwinks his client into signing a legal document forcing him not to go to another law firm? What contractor talks a homeowner into signing a legal agreement that wouldn't allow him EVER to get another carpenter to work on his house? This whole thing stinks to high heaven. It's requiring a free agent - the public - to give up a basic right of free choice. If one agent isn't serving me well, I have the right to choose another! This is America, after all.

Good Concepts. But, since the NAR lawsuit it is NOT legal to say that the buyer does not pay the commission because the seller pays the commission! Cannot say buyer does not pay.

I'm now leaving a happy life and working hard to live a happy life and supporting my children. I like this method but don't you think we should be practicing more than just rebuttals? Real estate is a deep industry there's: laws, terminology, processes, deadlines, contracts and so much more outside of rebuttals

I will be buying a new house in a couple of years. It appears like I will have to work with a buyers agent. What I want to hear from the agent is exactly what the agent will do for me. I will definitely want value for money. If I am buying a $500K house and the buyers agent commission is 2.5% of the price or $12,500 I expect to receive services worth that much, so at least a full month of the agent's time. I am quite capable of negotiating my own deal and I also understand home construction as well or more likely much better than any agent. I also know exactly what I want. So what I don't want from an agent is the agent wasting a bunch of my time interfering with the way I look at a property or making comments about how great various aspects of a property are. I also don't want a bunch of questions about my personal situation. If I want to look at a house it is because from what I have seen in listings and by personally checking the house out from the road that the house is a prospect and I know exactly what I can afford. Basically if I can't afford a property I won't waste my time looking at it.
